Saint Remy
TRANSHUMANCE: Thousands of sheep flock to St-Remy every year to star in a spectacular pageant. Transhumance roughly translates as changing pasture and marks the traditional way of life for shepherds of Provence. The flocks arrive in the centre of town and are paraded round, there are sheepdog demonstrations and at the end of the day the sheep go to the pastures for a peaceful summer of grazing in the hills!

Hot Air Balloon Festival – a colourful spectacle with about thirty balloons from all over Europe in the sky over the town where the two inspired inventors Etienne and Joseph de Montgolfier launched the first hot air balloon.
