Majestic Wine Calais for a right royal shopping deal in France

Majestic-Wines-Calais warehouse

Majestic Wine Calais is a huge warehouse selling beer, wines, spirits and champagne in Calais; it has weathered the difficulties of the last few years well. The recession and the strong Euro have taken their toll, all of the popular booze cruise outlets have suffered, and some have gone…

So how has Majestic Wine, “The UK’s most refreshingly down to earth wine retailer with two stores in Calais” managed to survive? Well for one, they offer the best deals. A vast range of wines from all over the world, beers, spirits and champagne, competitive pricing and some excellent discounts and incentives mean they’ve kept their loyal clientele happy.

Majestic Wine has two stores in Calais. The largest store is conveniently located just off the motorway on the approach to the ferry port and they also have a store in Coquelles handy for the Eurotunnel terminal. This means that travellers passing through Calais on their way to or from the UK can easily stop and pick up a great bargain. If time is of the essence, you can ring ahead or go online and place an order, they’ll have it all ready for you to collect so you’re on your way in no time at all.

Finally – they have a really helpful and friendly team. Tessa Birks from Canterbury says that she always stops off at Majestic Calais on her way to her holiday home in France. Even though she can buy great wines in the local stores, she finds a greater range at Majestic, often cheaper and she really values the great advice she gets. Over the years she’s been going, the team have got to know her likes and dislikes and they’ll sometimes make suggestions for new wines she might enjoy.  They have tasting counters and for many customers this is really important.  How many of us have found a great deal in a supermarket in France, bought a load of bottles and then got home only to find it’s more à la vinegar than à la joyous memory of France?

Great deals and discounts at Majestic Wine Calais

One of the things that Majestic Wine Calais do that really makes them stand out from other wine and beer stores is pass on savings via deals and discounts. Check out their website and you’ll see a crate load of special offers: wines under £3, wines £3 less than the UK, price reductions and copious bargains.

Cheaper than the UK: Many of the wines in the Majestic stores in Calais are more than £3 cheaper than the same bottle in the UK. Less tax on alcohol in France keeps the price down. What’s more you can pay in Sterling or Euros – the prices are displayed in both currencies on the in-store point of sale and online.

Pre-order:  For every £150 you pre-order online or by telephone Majestic will give you an extra £10 off! They’ll get your order ready and help you load it too.

Advice and special services: Their wedding and party planning services include free glass loan from the UK stores (subject to availability and must be arranged in conjunction with a pre-order), an online party drink calculator to help you work out suitable quantities, wine advice to suit your budget and menu, free tasting in store all day, every day and the ability to order in advance, giving you peace of mind that your stock is reserved. Due to UK duty laws they are unable to deliver to the UK but they do offer a delivery service for addresses in France.

Travel Deals: Majestic have teamed up with P&O Ferries to offer discounted prices for day trips and overnight stays starting from £19.00 in the summer for a car and up to 4 passengers. Jane Morden from Bromley, Kent told us that she really enjoys a day trip to France, takes advantage of the cheap day ticket price and the savings she makes at Majestic Wine cover the cost of the ticket. If it’s raining she recommends the Calais Lace Museum for the whole family, if the sun is shining there’s “so much to do” but the family loves to explore the beaches of the Opal Coast. Just use the code MAJESTIC to take advantage of this great offer.
