Magnificent Modigliani retrospective in Lille 2016

The Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani is being shown at the Lille Museum of Modern Art (Lam) from 27 February to June 5 2016. It’s a chance for Modigliani fans to enjoy an exceptional exhibition and to make it even better, there are some great deals to be had during this time such as a buy one night, get one free at selected hotels for weekend stays…

Make the most of a 48 hours trip to Lille


From Lille’s Grand Place with its cafe terrace culture where you can soak up the atmosphere of those flamboyant Flemish facades and absorb the buzz of a vibrant city, visitors will get to the Lam Museum of modern, contemporary and outside art in Greater Lille) thanks to a shuttle service starting from Lille tourist office. After your visit to the retrospective, take the shuttle bus back to Lille, where a short stroll will take you to the specialist boutiques of the Old Town or the retail temptations of the pedestrian district.


First-time visitors can get their bearings on a minibus tour, enjoy panoramic views from the UNESCO listed Belfry, and discover the city’s rich history through its diverse museums and galleries such as La Piscine, a former art-deco swimming pool turned into a museum.  But expect some surprises along the way. Some one hundred of the artist’s paintings and drawings will be on display, alongside works by Pierre Soulages,  Pablo Picasso, Daniel Buren, Jacques Lipchitz, Chaïm Soutine, Moïse Kisling, Henri Laurens and André Derain among others.
