Fête de la Musique 21 June – annual free music festival takes place throughout Paris and France – performances of all kinds from classical music, choirs in churches, hip hop, jazz, orchestra and pop taking place in the open air, bars and restaurants. http://www.fetedelamusique.culture.fr/

Brittany, Tréguier: The Pardon of Saint-Gildas, also called “Pardon the horses,” is celebrated in early June. At low tide, pilgrims, hikers, riders and their mounts have exceptional access to the private island of St Gildas, off Port Blanc.  http://www.tregor-cotedajoncs-tourisme.com

Pas de Calais, Audresselles: Festival of the crab 8-9 June. Auvergne 27-29 June. Alsace, Strasbourg 7-15 June.  Strasbourg Music Festival – in a beautiful city this three weeks long festival offers the opportunity to listen to high calibre musicians and orchestras from all over the world playing in selected venues across the town. http://festival-strasbourg.com/

Central , Val de Loire 14-15 June. Le Mans – French 24 Hour Grand Prix, speed and thrills at the International circuit at Le Mans. www.lemans.org
