Welcome to 2018 The Good Life France Newsletter

Written by on January 7, 2018 in Newsletter from France

It’s was a stormy start to the year with the power going on and off so there was nothing for it but to light a candle and read a book in between my usual day spent on the internet and writing. This was seen by my cats and dogs as an opportunity to use me as a human cushion. Ella Fitzgerald who was supposed to be a Spaniel but turned into a rather large German Shepherd, doesn’t think she is a dog at all. She likes nothing better than to sit upright on the sofa next to me pretending she’s my bestie. Five cats fight to sit on my lap and hiss at each other in jealousy. Bruno the Labrador likes to lie across my feet and Churchill the German pinscher (like a miniature Doberman but yappy) stays in front of the fire where its warmest. There are times when I look at what has become of my life and I shake my head in wonderment – in a good way of course!

I’ve been preparing lots of before and after photos of my old house in France for The France Show later this month. You might know I’m going to be there chatting about France and my book (26-28 January, 2018, at London Olympia). I think there are a few free tickets available – if anyone wants some, just email me! I’m not nervous yet but I’m pretty sure my knees will be knocking by the time I get there! I’ll post the pics on the website soon as lots of people say they’d like to see what my old wreck looks like!

Meanwhile here in France, the Christmas decorations are starting to come down and we’re getting back into the normal routine of life in the winter, largely featuring rain, mud and the sound of the wind swooshing through the trees. It’s good weather for writing is all I will say!

I have some great news for those who want to read my free ezine The Good Life France Magazine. Loads of people have complained that they don’t like Flash Player which the magazine needed. But not anymore! The magazine has been upgraded, NO MORE FLASH PLAYER! It downloads faster and smoother than ever before so if you’ve not taken a look – please do, it’s totally free, there’s no catch. It’s full of really great features and stunning photos, it’s professional and just like any magazine you’d pay for on France – except its free! Just click here: The Good Life France Magazine Winter 2017 (and there are 9 great give aways inside!)…

Bonjour Hope you had a good week. It’s been a noisy old week in my village. The snow disappeared rapidly and suddenly the place became a hive of activity. The men laying a new road came and finished the job and the roofers turned up to mend my neighbour’s house. This is somewhat unusual in […]

Bonjour It’s been a bit spring-like where I am in France, warm even for the time of year. The daffodils are starting to bud and Ken the mad cockerel has taken a bit of a dislike to them for some reason. He has been pulling off the poor little bud heads. On the whole, his […]
