Catherine de Medici Public Domain via Wikimedia Commons An amazing find has taken place at the beautiful Fontainebleau Palace in France.

A gold hairpin which experts say once belonged to Queen Catherine de Medici was discovered in a communal toilet in the Palace.  The experts say that they can state with some authority that the pin belonged to the 16th Century Queen due to the insignia of interlocking Cs – for Catherine.

No one knows why it would be in a communal toilet of the grand Palace but we’re betting they’re glad they flushed it out!
