My French Life: Day in Le Touquet in Pictures

A rabbit buys carrots at the market in Le Touquet!

I really like the upmarket and ever exciting seaside resort of Le Touquet on the Opal Coast of Pas-de-Calais. There’s always something going on here – the tourist office says that there are more than 400 events organised each year.  There are art exhibitions, sporting events including the Womens International Open Tennis tournament, car rallies, beach sports, musical festivals and tons more – its a really vibrant and buzzing place. I spent Saturday in the lovely town, it was sunny but a bit breezy. Nothing illustrates what Le Touquet is all about better than photographs so enjoy!

Even the street art in Le Touquet is stylish – I couldn’t resist a French kiss!

These two cheese makers at the covered art deco market posed happily with The Good Life France’s logo! The market is great with a real mix of goods from the most fantastically fresh fish to traditional baskets, fruit and veg, spices, meat and goods from the home to trendy clothes and shoes and gorgeous chichi handbags.

The day I went there was a music festival with bands playing all over town in public spaces – rock, classical music, folk, hip hop – throughout the afternoon and evening the bands played for free and there was dancing in the streets.

And finally I leave you with le Chocolatier – utterly irresistable locally hand made chocolates!  If you want to see more photos of Le Touquet click on The Good Life France’s Pinterest page where you’ll find loads!
