La musique – it’s not all accordions and raspy voices out here you know!
If you want accordion music, you will find it but there is actually a lot more to music in France and French music events than most people are aware of. There’s something here to suit all tastes whether you like techno pop, jazz, opera, bang on trendy or traditional French.
In 2012 we are particularly looking forward to the Main Square Festival in Arras, they always have a really great line up of world class acts – in 2011 this included The Kaiser Chiefs and Cold Play amongst many others. The festival venue is easy to get to – by train it’s just 20 minutes from Lille, just over 45 minutes from Paris and under two hours from London. Set in the beautiful Citadel of Arras this music festival is believed by some in the business to have the makings to be the European epicentre for festivals. We’ll bring you more details about how to get there and what acts are performing when we have them.
We’re also keen on jazz and there are some great events being lined up jazz music in France for 2012 which we will put on our site as soon as we receive details.
As keen music lovers we have found it quite difficult to get information on what events there are and we live here – so we aim to make it easy for you and bring you information about the best of musical events being held in France and also where to go if you want something a little bit different!
