Everything You Want to Know About France and More...

Keen as Mustard and off to Dijon newsletter from France

keen as mustard

Cou cou from France!

Today I’m off to Dijon in Burgundy and – I’m keen as mustard to visit this gorgeous town (I can hear you groaning at that little pun!).  I’m taking the train across France, from Calais to Paris where I’ll pick up a train at Gare de Lyon direct to Dijon arriving in the centre of town just 2.5 hours later – and of course I will be going to the famous Dijon mustard shop – Maille.

This week I visited a chocolate factory in France! One of only three companies in the whole of France that makes chocolate using their own beans (they have a plantation in south America) and I’m really looking forward to tell you about it next week – just in time for Easter!  Easter Monday April 21 will be a public holiday in France so, if you’re planning to be here then, don’t forget to stock up a day or two in advance because almost all shops will be closed. Most of them will be closed the day before too – Sunday opening is not the norm yet here in France though it is getting that way.

Wishing you all a very bon weekend and hope you enjoy reading all the features we’ve published this week…

Best wishes
Janine
