P&O Ferries are offering some great savings on their festive Christmas sailings between Dover and Calais.

The cross Channel ferry company stocks its shops with toiletries, gifts, booze and perfume and those travelling on board could save up to 40% off high street prices.

Janette Bell, Commercial Director at P&O Ferries, said: “Although Duty Free shopping ended years ago, a P&O ferry still has some of the most competitive retail prices on offer for Christmas shoppers. In our on-board shops you can take advantage of discounts of up to 40 per cent off high street prices on leather goods, alcohol and beauty products.”

P&O have return car ferry journeys starting at £25.00 (including passengers) which means significant savings can be made even taking the cost of travel into account.

The outstanding offers available from P&O Ferries this Christmas include:
Paco Rabanne Olympea 80ml Christmas perfume set for £55.20 (RRP £70)
Boss Bottled 200ml men’s aftershave for £45.60 (RRP £76)

Cath Kidston handbags – 20 per cent off the RRP

Savvy shoppers should head for the famous hypermarkets of Calais and Boulogne to make further savings and to stock up on great French products from cheese and wine to chocolate and biscuits. You’ll find some less well-known foods to take home like delicious creamy better with salt crystals, seasonal cakes, sensational pates and all manner of great bon bons and cakes.  Take a cool bag with you to keep things fresh on the way home.

If you don’t want to disembark in Calais but just head straight back to Dover with your on-board shopping you can simply buy a £14 return ticket for a car and two people. The ‘Shop and Sail’ ticket means you can park on board for a return crossing, order whatever you like from the on-board shops and have it delivered straight to the boot of your vehicle by the crew. That’s Christmas shopping done and dusted!

With a strong pound versus the Euro, up to 23 sailings a day and the Christmas markets in Pas de Calais to tempt you as well as the shops of Calais and the on-board savings, it’s time to nip across the Channel and enjoy a taste of France.
