Further to our recent update that the entire village of Courbefy in Limousin, France is to go back into the auction process – we can confirm that the date will be May 21.

Credit Agricole Central Oeust branch are the branch responsible for the sale.

The previous owners had plans to turn Courbefy into a hotel and restaurant complex but they ran out of money and the property has been listed for sale under bankruptcy proceedings.

The story of the abandoned village just 30 miles from Limoges, the Capital of Limousin has gonen viral and has been reported all over the world.  The Mayor for Courbefy has received hundreds of communications as has the lawyer for Credit Agricole.

This time round – the second auction event for this village, everyone is hoping that a buyer will be found to breathe new life into the area.  Whoever is lucky enough to be the successful bidder will find that there is a swimming pool and tennis courts waiting to be used and 19 homes for renovation, rental and sale.

The price being quoted is €330,000.00 and there are allegedly more than 100 seriously interested potential buyers who will be in Limoges on May 21 for the auction.
